I'm not usually a bright lipstick kinda gal. I tend to go for something nude, or something subtle with a little shine. But yesterday, I dunno. The tube of pink really called my name. And I'll tell you what. It's got me hooked. These pink lips followed me around all day, and I think I stood a little taller, smiled a little bigger, etc, etc.
It all began at roughly 4:35 am. {I know, I'm a champ to get up that early.} As I quickly threw a half-decent outfit together, I spotted the tube on the dresser. And you know? I was like, why not. So I put it on. Not without a layer of good ole' vaseline on the bottom AND top though. {It was -20 C that morning. Necessary.} So off we went, me and my pink lips. We got to work and things were immediately hectic. So much so that I forgot the pretty hue that resided on my lips. Until, that is, one very sweet coworker walked by and said, "You look so pretty today!" I was all, "Oh my gosh, thank you!" And then I was like, kudos to you, pink lips. {But you know what? My hair looked good that day too. WHAT a day I was having.}
So work carried on, and soon, but not soon enough, it was time to go home. I had re-applied more pink to my lips a couple times throughout the day. Didn't want to chance this day going hay-wire. {I'm sure the really work-serious folks had a chuckle when they saw this little thing sitting at her desk, staring into her phone cam applying lipstick. Or maybe they think I'm a weirdo. I work around engineers and burly men a lot.}
Anyway, we finally made it home. {And after a lovely nap on the bus, I might add.} We were SO excited that the weekend was finally here, pink lips and I. Can't you tell how happy we are!? A grand moment it was for us. We then proceeded to do the dishes. After that, we sat and watched HGTV and waited for Buns to come home from work. When he arrived, all three of us were like, "Woo!! It's the weekend!!" And then we went out for pizza to celebrate.
Kay lips, get ready for day two.
